A Continental Breakfast will be served at 7:30am in Ballroom B
OBJECTIVES
Aims of this lecture are the following:
- How to optimize the treatment planning of a case presenting with soft/hard tissue defects following the so-called Prosthetically Guided Regeneration (PGR) principle
- To present the best documented surgical alternatives, highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each technique
- How to choose the most appropriate regenerative biomaterials for soft and hard tissue augmentation
- How to reduce complexity and morbidity with the aid of digital technologies, with a specific focus on custom-made, CAD/CAM titanium meshes
- Provide the most important tips and tricks to optimize results and minimize or manage complications related to protected regeneration with Titanium meshes
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
- How to plan a case presenting with edentulous areas associated with alveolar bone defects
- How to manage the digital workflow for planning and producing a customized CAD-CAM titanium mesh
- How to choose grating materials for bone augmentation with titanium meshes
- How to harvest bone chips with a bone scraper from the mandibular ramus (on pig mandible)
- How to position, fill with grafting materials, and stabilize a titanium mesh (on pig mandible)
- How to release soft tissues to obtain a eater-tight and tension-free suture (on pig mandible)
- How to reduce and/or manage potential complications associated with the use of titanium meshes
- Present perspectives and preliminary results with the new semi-occlusive customized CAD-CAM titanium meshes
