This 4-hour specialty program will explore these concepts through various case studies and hands-on techniques to address soft tissue management, biologics, and biomaterials in improving the success of bone grafting and long-term dental implant stability.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Understand complex oral surgery and the effect of keratinized tissue on peri-implant health, necessary for long-term success.
2. Appreciate the importance of soft-tissue and prosthetic tissue sculpting to promote long-term implant stability.
3. Understand techniques of flap management, autogenous soft tissue grafting and alternatives available to prepare for, and at the time of, implant placement.
4. Understand the various types of biomaterials available, and when and where to utilize them.

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP

  • In a hands-on setting, you will learn proper handling, placement, contouring, and stabilization of soft-tissue grafting materials.
  • Execute soft tissue management techniques including flap design, grafting, and release to optimize wound closure, esthetics, and long-term implant stability.
